Charlie's Third Birthday Party

In July two of Charlie's friends had birthday parties on the same day at the same place, one at 10am and one at 2pm.  Charlie has two friends - Warren and Lute - who have birthdays around his.  Warren's is August 18th and Lute's is August 28th.  So after the July parties we decided to have a combined party for the three boys at the Georgia Aquatic Center, where we took swim lessons.

They have a fun outdoor pool, with a shallow end that is only 2 feet deep, two slides and a spray fountain.

Not many of the kids went down the slide, but Charlie LOVED it, especially when Michael Michael was there to catch him.

We held the party on Charlie's actual birthday, August 24, because it was on the weekend between the other two birthdays. when we were planning the party, we set it at 10am, thinking it is August in Georgia, it will be hot and we can wear the kids out and have a good nap.  We didn't count on the coolest and wettest summer in years! So it was cooler - in the 70s - but no rain!  And the cooler temps didn't stop anyone from swimming.

Charlie had so much fun with all his friends and his cousins Hudson and Bowen. Check out the birthday smile!

We had a cupcake-cake made at Publix. I told the bakery it was a swim party and this is what they made - it was awesome.

And we had three cupcakes for the birthday boys so they could blow out their candles.

With the cooler day, we had a breeze that kept the candles from staying lit. So we had to pretend to blow out the candles, but the boys went along with it.

We also had popsicles, and Charlie probably had 5.  It was his birthday!
