Campign in the Yard

Marc surprised us today with a fire pit so we could roast some marshmallows and make some s'mores.  He also broke out the small tent, and he and the kids camped out overnight.

Soaking Wet

Yesterday, we had quite the storm.  A tornado hit the western part of the county, and we were without power for about 6 hours. Marc picked both kids up early so if there was a tornado, they could be in our basement.  But in picking them up, Charlie and Marc were drenched.  And Charlie wanted to tell me about it.

Field Trip Time!

 Marc was picked to chaperone Charlie's kindergarten field trip to the Aquarium.  He was instructed not to take any pictures in the Aquarium, so all I got were the before and after bus ride pictures.  We had an excited and then tired boy!

Charlie's First Nationals Game

 

Being next to DC, Marc has become a big Nationals fan. So he decided to take Charlie along to a game one afternoon.  Now they are both Nationals fans!  Although Charlie may just like the big pretzels and the batting helmets.

Charlie also got a lego Bryce Harper, and he quickly became Charlie's favorite player.

By the seventh inning, Charlie started fading a bit. But he is now a fan, too!

Marc's Birthday Cake

For Memorial Day, we went down to Georgia for a family gathering at my mom's house. And while we were there we celebrated Marc's birthday. We were able to have cake with my parents, Marc's parents and Aunt Lyn (my dad's sister) and Uncle Larry. Charlie was most excited about blowing out candles and eating cake!

Magnet Board Drawing

 Marc is very humble when I mention that he is a really good artist.  But look at what he can do on one of those kids' magnet drawing boards. Our Star Wars loving boy was thrilled!

 

Field Trip

  In May Charlie had a field trip to the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore.  It's not just a stop on a Monopoly board!

One of Charlie's school friends - Hudson - stayed with Marc and Charlie for the tour of the museum.   Hudson also stayed with us when we toured the Robinson Nature Center.

 

Looks like they had a great time!

Sandwich Bags

Marc is a gifted artist.  He denies it but take a look at these.  These were the sandwich bags that went to school with Charlie and Rosie.  If it were me, they would be lucky to get a smiley face.

The Aftermath

 And what happens after you put 50+ miles on your legs in 4 days between races and parks?  Ice bath!
