Here He Comes, First Grade!
The kindergarten classes at Charlie's school put on a little show a couple of days before school finished for the year. There were a ton of parents there and despite being early, we didn't get great seats. Not bad, but not great. And every other parent seemed to stand up, so I had to attache my super lens to get a good look at Charlie.
He was really excited once he saw where we were sitting.
They performed their 8 healthy habits and sang a couple of songs for us.
Charlie has loved his teacher this year, and she just adores him. And she loves flamingos!! She was wearing the scarf Charlie gave her for Christmas.
My men in bow ties looked pretty good.

Field Trip Time!
Marc was picked to chaperone Charlie's kindergarten field trip to the Aquarium. He was instructed not to take any pictures in the Aquarium, so all I got were the before and after bus ride pictures. We had an excited and then tired boy!

Mama Mary
On February 12, I got to be Charlie and Rosie's Mama instead of sitting at a desk. I went to Charlie's class were he was also celebrating 100 days of school. It started with a surprise of trail mix that had 100 items in it - 10 each of some of his favorite things - M&Ms, Gummi Bears, Cheerios, Raisins, and lots of other yumminess.
And I got to wear his crown!
Then we left and Charlie walked through 100 streamers in Valentine colors.
Charlie and I then joined Rosie for her politically correct "celebrate with friends we love" party.
Luckily, there were still cupcakes!

Charlie's First Girlfriend
Alia is a little girl in Charlie's class who also rides his bus. They have been good friends all year. Today, Marc sent me these pictures from when they got off the bus. They had a goodbye hug that was at least a minute long. When Marc asked why they hugged for so long, Charlie said, "Because she's my girlfriend!"

Charlie's FIrst Day of School
Charlie's first day of school was also his 5th birthday! I had a hard time that morning, looking at my big boy and wondering where the years had gone.
And on our first day, we almost missed the bus! We learned that when they say 9:10 for pick up, that means anywhere between 9:00a and 9:15a.
And there he goes. . .

Kindergarten Orientation
Charlie's kindergarten teacher is Mrs. Little. She has 25 years experience teaching, and this is her first year with kindergarten. She was teaching 1st grade, but since the 1st grade curriculum is now the kindergarten curriculum, there is no learning curve.
Charlie was ready to be a Fulton Falcon!
