What's Up With Charlie?

He is already an over-achiever.  When he gets sick, he goes all out! 

Last Friday, at about noon, Charlie got a fever that wouldn't go away.  So after a very cranky weekend for both Charlie and me and Marc, Monday we went to the doctor.  The results?  A double ear infection.

Hopefully he will be back to his normal self soon.  We are all ready for a happy baby again!

Getting Charlie to Laugh

 It's not too hard to get the little man to Laugh - he's a happy, good natured fellow for the most part.  But I found one of his toys is a sure-fire laugh producer.

What in the word is this wondrous toy, you ask?  A simple blue reindeer stuffed animal with a rattle in its tummy.  Charlie thinks it is hilarious!

Six Months, One Week

This morning Charlie had his six month check up and received his six month vaccines.  He is doing great!  His head is 16.75 inches - still in the 25%.  His weight is 18 pounds, 3 ounces - in the 75%. And Charlie is 28 inches tall - in the 99%.  It's amazing that, according to these measurements, Charlie has a little head and big body because he looks so proportional to us.  The doctor was pleased with what and how he eats and with how happy he is.  Marc and I (and everyone who has helped us thus far!) have done a very good job, according to Dr. Baker.

Charlie started day care on Monday and has really taken to it.  It's a fun place with music, lots of toys and new babies to meet.  It's the perfect place for a social baby  like Charlie.  And they have a webcam so Marc and I can watch him all day long. He did come home with a runny nose, but according to the doctor we shouldn't worry unless it changes colors or is accompanied by a fever.

He is having a problem with his naps.  Charlie sleeps best in someone's arms.  When being held, he can get in two good two-hour naps a day.  Now, he is getting 3 30-minute naps.  He will gradually get better, but for now we have a cranky baby when we get home!

Charlie's New Girlfriend

Last weekend, Charlie and I went to Augusta to visit my friend Connie and her new baby Sophie, who is almost five months younger than Charlie.

Charlie was so excited to meet Sophie.  He couldn't keep his hands off her. You can't really see it, since I only got the side of his head, but Charlie has a HUGE smile on his face.

Charlie likes the ladies.  And after our visit, I'm pretty sure that Sophie's dad Jake will be keeping her away from the boys for a while!
