B-Ball and Giggles

35 Weeks

I am 35 weeks pregnant today.  And I am feeling much, much, much better.  I went to the doctor this week and despite the stomach bug I had last week, I gained 2 pounds.  But I have only gained 17 pounds overall.  The baby is measuring exactly as she should and getting what she needs, but I am probably not.  Hopefully I won't get sick again for the next 4 weeks and will be stronger when she arrives.

Last weekend we moved Charlie into a big boy bed.  It is the lower bunk of the bunk bed set Marc had as a child.  Charlie loves the bed, but wants someone to be in the bed with him when he goes to sleep or gets up at night.  Marc has helped me out tremendously by handling that all week.  And this weekend we began Operation Tough Love: Learn to Sleep By Yourself.  Saturday for his nap, Charlie fell asleep sitting up next to the door.  Marc and I couldn't help but laugh as we watched him, with his head nodding, on the monitor.  He finally layed down on the floor and napped.  Hopefully he will learn that the bed is more comfortable than the floor.

Hard at Work

34 Weeks

I am 34 weeks pregnant today.  I know I mentioned it was a rough week for us, and one reason has been how yucky we have felt this week.  I think Charlie brought a little bug home with him from school, and Marc and I caught a bit of it.  Marc wasn't quite as bad as I was, as I was vomiting again.  Ugh.  I am so ready to NOT throw up everything I eat or drink.  I am feeling better now though - even craving some foods - so maybe we will have a better last 5 weeks.

It is crazy to think She will be here in 5 weeks!  So much to do!!!

In the last post I mentioned Marc's aunt died.  It was very unexpected aand we have taken it hard.  You can see her obituary here.  Marc served as a pallbearer at the funeral, and my parents gave up beach time and had to miss my step cousin's wedding to come help me out with Charlie, because I could not make it down there this pregnant and this sick.  We are so sad that Aunt Judy won't get to meet the new Baby or watch Charlie grow.

Rough Week

The McMottes have had a very rough week.  We had a very close family member pass away on Monday, Marc's Aunt Judy.  We are simply heartbroken over her passing.  I'll have a little more to say about that on Sunday.  And then today, my boss announced his retirement.  You can see the announcement here:

He isn't retiring until June 30, 2013, so we have a fun and busy 15 months ahead!
