Bye bye tree - hello deck!
My parents recently added a screened porch to the house. They will soon add a small deck, but to do so, this tree will have to go. I am sad about the loss of the river birch, but it is evidently a messy tree - always dropping leaves and clogging gutters. And I am not a fan of my parents on the roof cleaning gutters, so farewell, river birch!

Wow! I hardly recognized the house! I am sad to see the tree go too, but agree that Aunt Dot and Uncle Kirby's feet staying firmly planted on the ground is a good thing!
