Today we start a second round of swim lessons for Charlie and 7 of his friends from Little Prodigies. We went twice a week for 4 weeks in March at the Georgia Aquatic Center. The swim lessons are in an indoor pool that is heated to 87*, but that is still chilly when your body is almost 99*. So poor Charlie just shivered, and the first two weeks went something like this:
And Charlie, being the smarty that he was figured out if he said he had to go potty, he could get out of the pool and get wrapped in a towel for the trip to the potty. One time we peed twice and pooped once, basically missing the entire 30 minute lesson. But then in week three he started to enjoy it - and realized it was warmer in the water, so he would constantly ask to go out and swim instead of sitting on the step.
Charlie has been practicing his bubble blowing and kicking in the bathtub and seems excited to go back to swimming lessons. They are also teaching him to float on his back, how to climb out of the pool and how to jump into the pool safely. Let's hope for a warm pool and a happy boy!
