As I mentioned, Charlie just had to get those tonsils out. Here he is at the ENT the day before getting his hearing checked.
There had been fluid in his ears as well, and we considered having
tubes put in while the tonsils and adenoids were removed. But with some
nasal spray, we were able to reduce the fluid and his hearing tests were normal. So we decided against the second set of tubes and Charlie's ears have been fine.
The morning of his surgery on July 9, he was NOT happy. All Charlie wanted was milk and cheerios and we wouldn't let him have any!
So he wouldn't pose with my sign. Thank goodness for Grandma Dot!
Rosie would pose, though!
Prior to surgery, Charlie hung out on the stairs in the outpatient center. . .
and modeled his hospital gown with Grandma Dot.
The surgery didn't take long - maybe 30-45 minutes. But
poor little buddy was NOT a happy boy when he came out of the anesthesia. He
had this wailing cry of pain.
The nurses gave him
some more pain medicine and he fell back to sleep. The next time he woke up it
was a little better.
Marc gave him a ninja turtle mask and nunchucks for being
such a brave boy.
We could have left the hospital as
early as 11am, if Charlie was drinking. But he had a hard time. He
even turned down popsicles! We finally got him to drink some fluids and
have some popsicle and left around 2pm. And for the next couple of days,
he was uncomfortable but not in the same pain Marc and I were in when we had
our tonsils out. We are very grateful for that. And no more
snoring!
