What Was Old Is New

When Marc was a child, he had this bulletin board in his room that Judy had painted.  Judy worked her creative magic and now Charlie can use it too.

Bath Time

Charlie LOVES his bath time.  He can be in the foulest of moods or about to fall asleep, but you put him in the bathtub and he is all smiles.

And his favorite toy is a pink stingray.  It's the best chew toy in the tub!

Giddy Up!

When Marc stopped bouncing the lil' cowboy, he would let us know he wanted to keep going! Watch for the "giddy up, Daddy!" cue.

Our First School Function

Last week, Charlie's day care had a pot-luck Easter egg hunt.

Our little man is obviously too young to hunt for the eggs, but he enjoyed watching all the big kids search for them.

And he looked pretty cute in his bunny outfit.

I was very excited about the cupcakes I made.  They were from a box, and the icing was from a can, but I decorated them!  And the chick cupcakes were a hit!  (I added a couple of chocolate ones, too.  I ran out of M&M eyes.)

Charlie's Got a Tooth!

Can you see it?

Let me give you a close-up.

It started coming in on Tuesday, and he has not let me take a picture of it. So when he was already mad, I was able to get a shot of his mouth.

Update on the Little Ears

Charlie is now totally tubular.

The surgery seemed to go well.  Charlie was the first patient of the day, so we were at the outpatient surgery center at 6:30 am.  (That wasn't so fun) He couldn't eat after 2am and I was worried he would be hungry and fussy when he got up, but he was fine. The nurse let him keep on his pjs and not put on the gown so Charlie was more comfortable. (Although I would have loved a picture of that!)

We hung out for a while because our doctor had been called to the ER.  So Charlie started to get a little cranky.  It was an hour after feeding time - I'd be cranky, too! But Marc kept him laughing until Grandma Dot got him to take a little nap.

The procedure was quick, and the doctor said his ears were bad.  Very red, infected and full of puss. And Charlie was MAD in recovery. He wasn't happy with any of us holding him, and he wouldn't nurse.  We heated up a bottle I brought and Marc got him to eat.  Then he fell asleep in Marc's armpit.  (It was deodorized!)

Once he got home and napped a little more, Charlie was fine.  He acted as if nothing happened.  Let's hope this keeps the ear infection away!

Relief?

This morning, Charlie is getting tubes in his ears.  Hopefully this will put a stop to The-Ear-Infection-That-Never-Ends.  Seriously, he's had an ear infection since March 3.  We've been to the peditrician 5 times, taken 4 different antibiotics and Charlie has yet to make it through an entire week of day care.  He's been out every week with either a fever or the lovely pooping problems that come with all these antibiotics.

We are hoping that what we've heard is true and these tubes do the trick.  Please keep us in your thoughts today!

Tri-County Bar-B-Que Festival

While we were in Dothan, Marc performed at the Tri County Bar-B-Que Festival.  They had a comdey contest, and Marc was the host.

I was excited because it was a festival with rides and funnel cakes and all that fun stuff.  Too bad Charlie is just a little to young to enjoy it, too.

But he did get to spend more time with Aunt Janette, which made him very happy.

Marc's cousin Sara and her husband Michael came out, along with a dear old friend of Grandma Janice.  So Marc had a great cheering section.  Charlie was able to put cousin Sara's love of Auburn University behind him and have fun with her!

And I know I'm biased, but Marc was fabulous.

After a long day of cooking chicken and roasting ribs, some laughs were just what the BBQ experts needed.

Easter Basket Goodness

Grandma Janice and Aunt Judy brought Charlie Easter baskets. And ooooh, did he love them!

Grandma Janice's basket had a bunny in it that sings, and he loooves it.  Can you see the smile?

Aunt Judy's basket was a camo jeep, and Charlie couldn't wait to get his hands on the Thomas the Train movie.

And the Ironman hat was pretty cool, too.  Even if he's got some growing to do to for it to fit.

Family Time

We spent last weekend in Dothan, Alabama.  Marc's mom grew up there and we have family that still lives there.  Charlie had a blast with Aunt Janette, Aunt Jan, Aunt Judy and Grandma Janice.  (Until I typed that I didn't realize all the J names!)

We had some good porch-sittin' time and some good food.

Having fun with Aunt Janette

Grandma sugar

And Wiizie was there too!

Charlie's New Car Seat

We recently discovered that Charlie had outgrown his infant car seat.  We knew about the weight limits (and he was a pound and a half away from that) but were unaware of height limits.  Well, our little man was two full inches too tall!

So we did our research and got one that should hold him until he reaches 70 pounds.  It's a great seat and Charlie seems to be comfortable in it.

However, we doubt we can keep him rear facing much longer.  His legs are so long that he has to keep them bent to not hit the back of the seat!

Our Mini Al Bundy

Totally engrossed in the television, hand on the crotch.  He sat this way for the entirety of Baby Mozart.

He's Funny!

Remember the comedy that Marc did last month? It seems he's got some fans!  Check out this blog post by a UWF student.

As you can see in the post, she seemd to like his stuff.  My favorite line?  "Whether he was making fun of the average college student life of late nights and drinking, or making fun of his wife he definitely "made" the show. "

Um, making fun of his wife? Marc said he only told a joke or two with me in it, but I guess they resonated.

But this line made me proud. "I was laughing so hard at everything that Marc LaMotte was saying."
