I'm Not a Professional

Remember this post, announcing Marc's headlining gig? Well, it was my attempt at a poster. Here's what happens when a professional in our Print and Copy shop gets his hands on it.

18 Weeks

I am 18 weeks pregnant today. Not much has changed, except I am HUNGRY. And I am eating a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, which I have never liked much before.

And I am fully in my maternity clothes. It is kind of sad - I have all these nice spring suits and clothes for work (including some bought off season with the tags still on!) and I have to wait another year to wear it all. The maternity pants are still too loose, but I am wearing them anyway. I don't have a choice! This weekend I plan to do a little shopping for a few more shirts and dresses.

We have thought about names and have a few favorites. But we don't plan to name Baby until he is born. I need to see him before I can give him a name.

More Pictures of Baby LaMotte

These are from our ultrasound on March 15. I had an amnio on this visit, and everything is looking good.

Who Has the Bigger Belly?

Last Friday, we went to a fabulous tailgate/happy hour prior to the UGA baseball home game. Our friend Anne decided to see who had the biggest belly, me or the men. I didn't win - yet!

I love the NCAA official in the background, trying to figure out what we are doing!

On My List Of Things To Do Today

was NOT get a new hot water heater. But that is just what I am doing now. At this very moment, 50 gallons of water are draining into out front yard as the plumber is replacing our HWH - only 5 years old - with an exact replica.

Marc and I noticed a leak and I called a plumber first thing this morning. And as soon as he saw it, he knew it was beyond repair. Sometimes I wish I was a renter.

17 Weeks

I am 17 weeks pregnant today, and I don't fit into almost anything I own. I had on slacks, a button down and a jacket at work yesterday and I looked like a sausage. When it comes to work clothes, I have one suit that still fits and two dresses that will work with a cardigan or sweater of some sort. And the maternity clothes I have right now are too big. They will fit eventually, just not now. I'm at a weird in between stage. I guess I need to find a few skirts and pants with stretchy waistbands that I can wear for the next month or so.

And I may be entering the nesting phase, because I hate my house and everything in it. I alternate between wanting to get rid of all our stuff and moving to a new house. And then sometimes I want to do both!

McGuires, Part 2

You know how I mentioned that there were some folks in some crazy outfits? Here is a very small sampling of some of the fun that is McGuires.

There was a stormtrooper to keep us in line.

And a guy in a keg. A real keg.

A sequined dress. I bet his girlfriend is not happy he borrowed it.

There were lots of girls in these tulle skirts. And a couple of dudes.
There were about 5 of these guys. It's a thong. They went too far.

And Green Man, of course.

McGuires, Part 1

Last weekend, we went down to Pensacola for a visit with the LaMottes. And while we were there, we participated in the McGuires 5K race. Well, Marc ran the 5K, I just watched.

This is an annual event that we've enjoyed in years before. There is a race, but it's more about the characters and the after party. And this year, there were LOTS of characters in some outrageous outfits. Marc wore his Ohio State green and was tame, compared to his days running in a kilt.

The after party wasn't as much fun, in my opinion. I know I am pregnant and easily irritated, but it was so crowded - there were 3000 more people there this year! There is free flowing beer, Irish wakes, cokes, Irish stew (I had two bowls) and rootbeer at the party, but it was difficult to get to the items with all the people. And by the time I got to the front of the rootbeer line, they were out. But Marc got to see some old friends and parents of kids he worked with at Bayview and he really enjoyed it. That, and the Irish wakes!

16 Weeks

I am 16 weeks pregnant today. This week has been tough, as I have been taken down by an upper respiratory/sinus infection. And Tylenol Sinus isn't doing a darn thing. But other than that, I am doing very well!

We've traveled down to Pensacola for a long weekend to visit the LaMottes, and the drive took longer. I'm not even halfway through the pregnancy and I have to pee twice as often as normal. we must have stopped at least once an hour so I could go to the restroom.

A Second Look

Last week, I posted the latest ultrasound pictures. One is clearly Baby, but I really couldn't tell what the other one was. But I posted it anyway.

Friday, Marc asked me if I realized what was in that picture. He couldn't believe I had posted it. I admitted I couldn't tell what was in the pic, and he told me to look closer and to look at the arrow. (I didn't even notice the arrow).

So go ahead - click on the picture, let it enlarge and look again.
Yep, it's definitely a boy!

A year ago yesterday, Marc had his back surgery. Today he ran 10 miles as he trains for his second Ironman in November. I continue to be impressed with how well he recovered and how amazingly well he is doing today.

15 Weeks

I am 15 weeks pregnant today. And just like everyone said, the nausea is gone. YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Now I am HUNGRY. The Baby likes his food.

There are still some skirts and dresses that I can wear, but I am down to only one pair of pants that fits. And it won't last long. I've got some great spring dresses that will still fit, so if it would just get warmer. . .

And I am ready for the nesting phase to kick in, too. I've got to do some spring cleaning and get some junk out of the house. I just need the energy burst to get it all done.

More of Marc

Here's another video of Marc at the Laughing Skull Lounge, based on a real kid that Marc taught when he was at Bayview in Pensacola.
