Ziplining

What else is fun at Grandma and Papa's house?  Ziplining!

Flying Kites

This was Charlie's first time flying a kite.  He LOVED it, running all over.  Rosie mostly dragged the kite, but got a little air and had as much fun as big brother.

Artic Cat Ridin'

Part of the fun of being at Grandma Dot and Papa Kirby's house is all the fun toys.  Especially the ones we don't have - or have room to enjoy - in Maryland.  Top of the list is the Artic Cat! Charlie will ride it all over the property.  Rosie is more of a rider at this point.  I think she enjoys being chauffeured.

Someone Got Into the Icing

I think Charlie helped Grandma Dot with Marc's cake.

Marc's Birthday Cake

For Memorial Day, we went down to Georgia for a family gathering at my mom's house. And while we were there we celebrated Marc's birthday. We were able to have cake with my parents, Marc's parents and Aunt Lyn (my dad's sister) and Uncle Larry. Charlie was most excited about blowing out candles and eating cake!

General Cuteness - Park Edition

Our townhome doesn't have much of a yard, but there are several parks and greenspaces. And boy, were we happy to play at the parks once it got warm!  Winter in Maryland was rougher (on me, at least) than expected.

Charlie's Super Sniffer

Charlie watched Bolt, and then tested out his own super sniffer as we looked for Rosie's stuffed animal Belle.

Maryland Day

Every year in the Spring, the University of Maryland hosts Maryland Day,  a "huge community outreach event when the campus opens its doors and invites the public to a FREE, fun-filled day of learning, exploration, and discovery. The day offers more than 400 festivities including exhibits, workshops, hands-on demonstrations, performances, cross-campus tours, lectures, petting zoos, and athletic events"

For 2015, Charlie was at a birthday party so Rosie and I went to campus (along with Flat Stanley) to see what this was all about.  And the description was correct, it is huge.  We only saw a fraction of what was offered.

We started on McKeldin Mall, where Rosie fished turtles out of the fountain and won a green turtle for her efforts.

Then we went to the Public Health booth, where Rosie jumped through some hoops.

Our division hosted a VIP suite, so Rosie and I stopped by. And I was surprised that my shy girl was very excited to meet the Dance Team.

Rosie and Flat Stanley sampled the Maryland Day ice cream flavor.

Rosie let the Dance Team paint her face.

There was a ton more to do, but Rosie started to get tired so we headed home.  Seems that Maryland Day is also exhausting!

"School Friend Charlie's" Birthday Party

Rosie has two Charlie's in her life - her brother and her "School Friend Charlie." And School Friend Charlie had a bouncy house birthday party.

Rosie only went down the slide once.  She enjoyed it, but had the been there, done that attitude.

Most of her time at the party was spent bouncing.

Or eating.  Cupcakes were gooood.

Happy birthday Charlie!
