Magic Kingdom - Meeting the Mouse

By the time we got to see the big guy - Mickey himself - it was time for our little man to have lunch and a nap.  And we had to wait in a line.  Charlie was getting very restless and cranky, so his visit with Mickey was not as fun as it had been with Donald, Daisy, Minnie and Goofy. He didn't run up and hug him, I sorta dragged him.  But we did get Charlie to smile - victory!

Rosie was also tired and not quite sure of this big mouse.

Our lesson was learned - visit Mickey first!

Magic Kindgom - Meeting Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Minnie

Y'all, Charlie was SOOO excited to meet his favorite characters.  He ran up to each one and gave the charachter a huge hug.  He talked to them as if they were best friends.  (Because, to him, they are.  He sees them everyday at the Clubhouse!)

Giving Dasy lots of hugs - Marc had to drag Charlie away

And when Rosie woke up from another short nap, she got in on the picture action, too.

Rosie was happy to have met them, while Charlie was sad to leave them.

Charlie Tidbits

Wednesday Charlie came home saying, "I got it going on!"  He has repeated it quite often, just to make sure we know.

Quite often, Charlie doesn't just say yes.  He says, "yep, uh-huh, okay!"

This week Marc had some shows in Boston, so Grandma Dot came over to help us out.  In the mornings Charlie has NOT wanted to leave Grandma to go to school.  On Thursday, once he was in the car and still crying, I said that Charlie was a big boy and going to school, but that Rosie was a baby and need Grandma Dot to take care of her. Charlie then informed me that he was a baby and Rosie was a big boy and he wanted Grandma Dot! "Rosie a big boy! Charlie a baby! Grandma Dooooooot!  Whaaaah!"  But don't worry - then we saw a school bus and started counting and he was fine.

At school, his friends know he loves Mickey Mouse.  Wednesday when he walked in his classmate Edie ran and got a plastic Mickey and brought it over to him.  Thursday when he came in his friend Bailey dragged a big stuffed Mickey over to the tables where they were eating breakfast and said Charlie needed Mickey to sit next to him. (Charlie then tried to feed the Mickey a biscuit.)

Wednesday night, I asked Charlie what he wanted to eat.  He looked up to the left, then to the right, got an impish grin on his face, put his hand on my cheek and whispered, "Popsicle!"

The Magic Kingdom

Charlie had SO much fun at the Magic Kingdom and so I took LOTS of pictures.  I'll spread this out over a couple of days to try and avoid picture overload.

"Castle! Castle!"

I stayed with a napping Rosie while Marc and Charlie rode the Winnie the Pooh ride. Charlie was enraptured.

And once she woke up, Rosie had fun, too!

Disney World!

On Wednesday, January 9, we left chilly Athens for the warmth and joy of Orlando and Mickey!  Thursday we got up and went to the Magic Kingdom.  I wanted a shot of my three loves in their Mickey gear, but Charlie did not want to pose for a picture, he wanted to go!

Marc and Rosie were happy to pose, but not the little man, to whom I had promised Mickey.  Posing for pictures was not Mickey!

Once we got out of the car he couldn't go fast enough in the stroller.  He leaned forward most of the time, trying to get there sooner.

"Look, Mickey!!!!"

We took the ferry boat over to the Magic Kingdom, and the kiddos were happy to be sooo close.
