Marc's Second UWF show

On Thursday, Marc had his second orientation show at his alma mater, UWF. this time, I got to join him for the show. It was so cool to see posters of him all over campus.

I thoroughly enjoyed the spread they had for him in the green room. And since I was joining him, they ordered enough food for me, too.

He was VERY funny - I'll post video soon!

31 Weeks

I am 31 weeks pregnant today. And throughout the last trimester, my left foot and ankle have swelled. Not too bad, and I could control it by wearing hose or crocs or sitting more than I stood. But now it swells all the time, no matter the shoe I wear or what I do. If I sit at my desk and elevate it, it is still huge by the time I get home. If I alternate sitting and standing, or walk around the building once an hour, it is just as big. Yesterday as I sat in the car, I could feel my sneaker tightening and had to loosen the laces. And by the time I went to bed, my foot, ankle and shin were HUGE. It goes down some at night, but never to completely normal. It looks so strange to me, like my foot is allergic to pregnancy.

Finished Another One

I finally finished my latest quilt - a four panel Christmas tree quilt. It was easy to piece together, but because it is a bit bigger than I normally make, quilting it was more difficult. There was just more fabric to move around.

The trees were quilted in green, and the background in white. So you can see the trees on the backing, too.

I messed one panel up, and didn't realize it until I pieced it together. I pieced the tree stand incorrectly. OR, I am taking an Amish tradition to heart and making a mistake on purpose. They make one purposeful error on every quilt, since only God is perfect.

How Hot Is It?

It is so hot here in Athens that the squirrels are too tired to run around the yard. Instead, they are lounging around in the shade.

He's Back - and Funny!

Marc just returned from Pensacola, where he performed at his alma mater's orientation session. He performed for more than 45 minutes for about 250 folks - and he killed it! He will head back to West Florida two more times this summer to make more incoming students laugh.

28 Weeks

I am 28 weeks pregnant today. And earlier this week, I had another visit to the doctor. I have finally gained more weight - 14 pounds total thus far. The doctor says I am right on track and I should expect to gain 12-14 more. When I saw the number I had a moment - I have never weighed this much. Of course, Marc put in in perspective. He hasn't see that weight since 8th grade.

My blood pressure is normal, my belly is measuring 26 weeks, and Baby's heartbeat is nice and strong. The nurse had a hard time calculating it, though, because he won't stay still. As soon as the nurse would find it, he'd move away. Baby is clearly his ironman father's son, not his couch-potato mother.

They also took blood for the glucose test. I am really hoping it turns out fine, because Baby has a serious sweet tooth.

And as I mentioned, baby moves around A LOT. I was laying on the couch this week and Marc could see my belly moving. When he is awake, Baby is in a constant state of motion. Sometimes it catches me by surprise and I jump, and sometimes a knee or elbow travels across my tummy and it actually hurts.

Wide Open Spaces

Having a different couch and chair downstairs has changed the living room. There is a bit more space now - ready for a kiddo and his exersaucer and toys and bouncy seat. But for now, we are using it for playing with the doggies.

Changes

This weekend, we made a little more progress in getting the house ready for Baby. we moved the sofa and recliner from the man cave downstairs and the couch, chair and ottoman from the living room up to the man cave. Actually, Marc moved it all - I just provided guidance. That counts as we, right?

While I LOVE my soft, cushy couch and my oversized chair, Marc's furniture is a pretty burgundy leather, and we thought that would be easier to clean spit up off of it rather than on my chenille. And he has a recliner that rocks, also a plus with a babe.

Lullabelle enjoyed the couch fort we had going for a while. Seriously, she did want to move!
