Tidbits

This week I had a quick business trip to Miami.  I was there all of 14 hours, but that was overnight. So the kids knew they would miss me Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

I took Rosie to school that morning, since I would be in Miami and would miss her in the evening.  I talked about flying on a plane, the work I would do and how much I would miss her.

She listened to me and was in quiet thought for a moment.  Then she asked, "Mama, where is Your-ami?"

Monsters vs Military

Of all the terrific Christmas gifts that Charlie got this year, this has been the one that he has played with the most.  Every night before bath he sets up battles between the military guys and the monsters.  He builds block forts all over the play area for the military.  They will be on top of cars, toy bins, and even his Lightning McQueen costume as they win the battle against the monsters.

All Backwards

I found these photos on my phone from before Christmas.  I had asked Rosie to put on her dress and I got all the way downstairs before I realized she had put it on backwards. And her shoes were on the wrong feet.  It was backwards day, even though it was unintentional.

Rosie's Winter Concert

Marc and I loved Rosie's last concert.  We couldn't post the video to the blog - it was too big.  But she sang her heart out and had such a good time.

So this time we filmed in shorter bursts.so everyone could see Rosie sing away.  But she was a little more reserved this time.  Maybe she was tired, maybe she was bored.  But she was SO happy to see us there.

Mama Mary

On February 12, I got to be Charlie and Rosie's Mama instead of sitting at a desk.  I went to Charlie's class were he was also celebrating 100 days of school.  It started with a surprise of trail mix that had 100 items in it - 10 each of some of his favorite things - M&Ms, Gummi Bears, Cheerios, Raisins, and lots of other yumminess.

And I got to wear his crown!

Then we left and Charlie walked through 100 streamers in Valentine colors.

Charlie and I then joined Rosie for her politically correct "celebrate with friends we love" party.

Luckily, there were still cupcakes!

Movies!

On one of the (so, so many) days off from elementary school, Marc took Charlie and his friend Rinky to see Kung Fu Panda 3.  It was Rinky's first movie, and Marc said he was so captivated he barely moved the entire movie. Charlie was thrilled to go with his friend!

Flag Football

Charlie had another flag football game, and this time I got to go.  It is so great to watch Charlie enjoy something so much.

First there was practice and drills. . .

. . .and then there was the game.

This was the second of Charlie's touchdowns during the game.  He also recovered a fumble.  And they won!

So It Snowed Again Today

I have decided I am meant for sandcastles, not snowmen.

What's better than cupcake flowers?  Not much, but those kiddos are just the Valentines we wanted!

Jack Birthday!

One of Rosie's classmate - Jack - had a fabulous birthday!  It was celebrated at a playground showroom that you can rent out for parties! Rosie had a blast jumping and sliding and swinging.

Fooseball was her favorite - we played here for half the party.

Happy Birthday Jack!

It was clearly a successful party.
