Dishtowel or Superhero Cape?

Charlie picked the towel up and draped it like this, then ran around the kitchen.

Charlie's New Toy

Charlie loves to push this dragon all over the house, and when we've tried to let him ride it, he had enjoyed that, too.  His balance riding isn't quite perfect yet, but he's trying!

Sunday as a Single Mom

Sunday Marc was flying back from Seattle, where he had a show. And my mom had headed off for a few fun days with her sisters at the beach.  So it was just me and Charlie in Athens.  He started by playing for a while and then got really tired at 9am.  So I thought he could lay down with me on the couch for a quick catnap before we went grocery shopping.

Three hours (!!!) later, Charlie woke up. We had very little in the house for him to eat (I had planned to buy stuff at the store)  But I scrounged him up some lunch and during his regular nap time, we went to Publix.  After racing up and down the aisles, we ran home and I put the cold stuff in the fridge.  Then we quickly headed back out to the park.

Charlie had a great time swinging, and the people watching was fun, too.

The Charlie went on a climbing spree.  It was tough to keep up with him alone.

And then we got home. And with the change in naptimes, Charlie was a cranky man. He decided it was time to test Mama. And he didn't like hearing no. So until bed time, this was the expression worn around the house - by both baby and mommy!

Charlie at Day Care-Crawlers Class

On the Friday before a game day, you can see the red and black everywhere.  Charlie and his sweet friend Bailey were adorable!

Little Prodigies is very close to Athens Regional Medical Center, and ARMC sent one of their children's mascot over to visit.  Charlie was one of the only ones in his class that would talk to him, and repeated Dog over and over.

Such a Big Boy

Yesterday, Charlie officially moved up to the one-year classroom.  He could have moved up a few weeks ago, and two other babies that aren't as far along developmentally have already joined the other one-year-olds.  But our center knew that I wasn't ready.  And I appreciate that they recognize that the entire family needs to be ready to move on.  But it is in the Crawlers classroom where Charlie has really grown and thrived.  He loves the teachers in that class, and so do I.  They love him, too.

He had been visiting the new class for awhile and had joined them for a meal each day.  And when he would co back to the crawlers class, he would bang on the door and cry. So I knew it was time for him to go, even if it breaks my heart that my little man is no longer a baby.

UGA v. Boise State

Last weekend was the Georgia/Boise State match up, and we traveled to Atlanta so I could work at the reception and the game.  I won't mention how miserable the evening was once kick-off happened (because words can't express the disappointment) but  I will talk about the fun.  Like at the reception - we had sliders that were freshly made and some yummy desserts.  And we had a mannequin named Lenny that modeled the game uniforms.

And we had really good seats with great BBQ and mac-and-cheese.  And we watched the game with the Bossman and my fantabulous co-workers.

And Grandma Dot and Papa Kirby took care of Charlie so we didn't have to drive home after the game.  And Charlie got to spend the night with his cousins. So while starting the season 0-1 isn't fun, the side effects were great.

Bedhead

Charlie woke up from a nap, and was not at all happy about being awake.  But he had the most awesome hairstyle!
