Homecoming 2008

Saturday's georgia football game was also Homecoming - so I am extra-glad that we won! Homecoming week also means I see little of my hubby, since he advises the students who manage and run Homecoming and all of the activities involved. There was free food in Tate plaza, a T-Pain concert, and the court. Oh, and a parade, which was rained out. (I was very sad about that, since I was set to be a parade judge!!)

If you were watching the game on tv when they came back from break at the end of halftime, you saw Marc escorting the new king and queen off the field. Yay! He's famous!

I knew four of the five guys on court, and would have been happy if any were crowned king, but I only knew one of the ladies of the court. The kids who won are really great, and I couldn't be happier for them. Beau is a member of the Arch Society (our university ambassadors) and has worked some events for me and is always a big help. Bailey was an orientation leader and while I don't know her well, she was sincerely grateful.

After the winners are announced, we quickly escort them and their families off the field and up to the President's suite for the last half of the game. Can you tell they were excited?

And while we were on the field waiting for halftime, we had yet another chance for some Uga VII photos. He is such a handsome dog!

We were at Mama's with Aunt Esther, Uncle Donnie, Uncle Van, and all of our family eating oysters and watching Georgia in between oyster cookings and we all saw Marc. Phil saw him first, rewound and paused, and then called the rest of us in. So we all saw him, and thought about ya'll. Glad to hear ya'll had a good day! See ya soon!

Mary...how exciting! I loved reading your post. You and Marc look great! Also, the picture of the King and Queen in shock...perfect! Sorry the parade was rained out, but I'm glad the game was a success! :o)
