We bought a mini van.
Back in the Fall, Marc and I had been looking at new cars, and we were looking for more room than we had in the Escape. It was fine for the four of us around town, but when we went to the beach or to a triathlon, it was a packed car with no room to move. And we knew that if we added to our family - be it a kid or another dog - we would be in trouble.
So we looked at larger SUVs, but it was a pain to get to that third row in the back seat. And there wasn't much more room. And then we looked at a minivan and realized how easy it would be for the dogs to get in and out. And how much room we would have for beach chairs or tri bikes or babies.
We had tried to negotiate with the Kia folks, but they wouldn't negotiate with us. So we were just looking around and saw a nice Nissan Quest. And then the pregnancy test came back positive. And one of the first things Marc said was we need to go get that van. So we are now the proud owners of a Nissan minivan.
Other than getting used to driving and parking a larger vehicle, it has been fabulous. It has heated leather seats - my must have - and the doors just slide open with the push of a button. And once Baby gets bigger, it has a DVD system.
And I must say, ever since we bought the van, this is the life we've led:
